The Idiot of the Week Award Goes to….
Just hours, if not mere minutes, after Senator Joe Biden announced his intention to run for the Democratic nomination, his mouth took a walk on the wild side.
The New York Observer quotes Biden on Barack Obama:
‘I mean, you got the first mainstream African-American who is articulate and bright and clean and a nice-looking guy,’ he said. ‘I mean, that’s a storybook, man.‘ (Emphasis added by Effluent.)
The Associated Press reports Senator Obama’s typically gracious response:
‘I didn’t take Senator Biden’s comments personally, but obviously they were historically inaccurate,’ he said.
Well, it wasn’t the first time Joe’s tongue got in the way of his brain, and it probably won’t be the last. Oh, no! Speak of the devil! Here he goes again!
Whatever. There was never any real danger that the jerk would have won the nomination, anyway.
