I heard a vacuous reference today on one of the cable news channels (I know not which one) referring to Anna Nicole Smith as the “modern day Marilyn Monroe.” I was dumbfounded. My first thought was: Who in God’s name could possibly make that correlation?
C’mon, people. There simply is no comparison. Just take a look at this photograph:
That right. That was a woman!
Anna Nicole Smith was no Marilyn Monroe! Monroe actually had a shred of acting ability in her bones. And she was pretty—not just an idiot sex machine.
Besides, I’m still pissed off because I wasn’t allowed to watch any news this weekend because Smith’s death positively monopolized the damned airwaves!!!!!!

Sorry to piss on everyone’s parade, but the “Anna Nicole-harpy” wasn’t worth it. (Notice how it’s taken a while for anyone to come forward and claim her corpse!?!) For all you Anna Nicole Smith fans out there, click on the audio control below:

I agree with you that Monroe was a stunning woman and, though troubled, she was not the ditzy airhead the press made her out to be.
