Now that I have No Man’s Blog up on a new server and running on WordPress 2.1, I’ve added a new feature called Effluent Polls. (I’ve wanted to add this feature for some time, but the plugin in I wanted to use requires WP2.1.) Here’s the inaugural Effluent Poll:

There were two plugins I was seriously considering, and I tried them both. In the end, though, I went with WP-Polls by GaMerZ. At first, I didn’t care for the presentation in the sidebar, but then—dunderhead that I am—I figured out that GaMerZ has made the plugin highly configurable. And it works great with WordPress 2.1. Go check out his site, because he’s got some cool stuff. I’ve installed two other of his plugins: WP-Stats and WP-Print. (You can find them on the link I listed above.) Go visit GaMerZ. He’s got great plugins!
From now on there’ll always be a poll in my sidebar, but I’ll add some to posts from time to time, as well.
