At first Mika Brzezinski of MSNBC’s Morning Joe seemed like a decent anchor, especially after she refused to cover the Paris Hilton story.
Well, now she’s an idiot. Or she has been, and I just didn’t know it.
It’s been coming for some time. For a while there, Brzezinski and NBC correspondent David Shuster were tag-teaming Joe Scarborough on the topic of waterboarding. “It’s clearly torture,” they would argue. “We Americans should be better than that.”
Right.
Of course, Scarborough wasn’t having any of it, and he let loose once or twice with firmly worded rebuttals.
But now Mika Brzezinski’s crimson rhetoric has gone beyond the pale. Yesterday morning, she insinuated that Benazir Bhutto’s assassination was the fault of a Bush administration foreign policy gone wrong.
I guess it goes something like this:
If we hadn’t “meddled” in the domestic affairs of Pakistan by urging Pervez Musharraf to agree to a potential power-sharing arrangement with Bhutto, she wouldn’t have been in Pakistan. Ergo, she wouldn’t have been murdered.
Of course, had the administration not pressured Musharraf to allow Bhutto’s repatriation, Brzezinski and her ilk would have bemoaned the administration’s “continued relationship” (read: connivance) with a dictatorial regime.
So with Marxist miscreants like Brzezinski in the peanut gallery, the Bush administration simply cannot do anything right.
Shitheads.
And now for the ad hominem part of my post.
Has anyone out there noticed that Brzezinski tends to preface many of her “questions” to guests with the word clearly? Actually, she prefaces an introductory statement of something she considers to be “fact” with the word clearly, and then asks a long, involved, and basically incoherent question. Here’s an example from NewsBusters:
Clearly this event plays into Giuliani’s strengths, supposed strengths, some would say. He is the hero of 9-11 in the eyes of many. But in terms of his politics couldn’t you argue that his foreign policy may, while it may appear to be the safe choice, it’s also very much in line with what we’ve seen over the past eight years. And it may just be more of the same, which is, potentially antagonizing nations like Iran or Pakistan? (Emphasis added.)
Jeez. A failed attempt at erudition, perhaps? My God, woman. Give it a freakin’ break!
Here’s a video example of Mika questioning Scarborough about the affect of the Bhutto assassination on the U.S. presidential race:
MDefl at RightPundits has some choice words about “the left wing loonies” wanting to blame the Bush administration for the assassination…and how the MSM will immediately want to point the finger of blame at Mr. Musharraf.
Without any evidence at all to support such an accusation….
