Oh, crap! Those damned Danish Mohammed cartoons are causing a problem again.

Yeah, that’s one of the Danish cartoons that galvanized the Western media, causing newspapers throughout the West to BRAVELY take a stand for journalistic principle:

And now our good buddies from the Islamic Republic of Pakistan (they’re our most important ally in the area where the Middle East and Central Asia converge, you know!) are hopping mad!!!!!

Darn. Don’t you hate it when that happens?

Anyway, Brian C. Ledbetter at Snapped Shot posted some groovy Associated Press photos of the aggrieved denizens of Pakistan as they protested the SHEER GALL of them gosh-darned Danish cartoonists.

Okay. I see….

They’re SO pissed off at Denmark that they have an uncontrollable hankering to burn the Danish flag!

What I don’t understand is this: Why do they feel compelled to use the Star Spangled Banner as a wrestling mat?

And now that I’ve accidentally displayed my prototypical American lack of cultural sensitivity (and now that I have provided ample evidence of my stunted world view), let’s move on to the next photo:

So here’s a toothless MoFo with a bewildered child on his shoulders who’s carrying a sign that says…something. I’m just trying to figure out what that “something” is. (There seems to be a spelling error on the sign, you see.)

Here’s the way I see it: The guy holding up the sign wants one of three things.

1. He wants the Danish ambassador to get a promotion.
2. He wants the Danish ambassador to be expelled from Pakistan.
3. He wants to put the Danish ambassador on a spreadsheet.

I dunno.

Which one to you think it is?

IN THE INTEREST OF FULL DISCLOSURE: I’ll ‘fess up and admit that I did, indeed, Photoshop that last photo. A bit. But it was a crop, not an addition–the kind of crop the AP boys and girls seem to favor.
